UPDATED: Statement following incident in Nottingham City Centre

In the early hours of Tuesday 13 June 2023, police were called to Ilkeston Road in Nottingham, where two people were found dead in the street.


Officers were then called to another incident in Milton Street where a van had attempted to run over three people. They are currently being treated in hospital.


A man was also found dead in Magdala Road.


Today (Friday 16 June), a 31-year-old man has been charged with three counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder.


Regional Deputy Chief Constable Paul Gibson said: “My thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected by the incident in Nottingham city centre. "Three innocent lives were lost today, and three others injured. "Our teams of expert officers and staff are committed to supporting Nottinghamshire Police as this investigation develops.”




Nottinghamshire Police is not looking for anyone else in connection with the attacks and Chief Constable Kate Meynell has reassured the public that it is safe to visit the city centre.
