How you can help to keep our communities safe from terrorism

Members of the public are being encouraged to help the police tackle terrorism and save lives by reporting suspicious behaviour and activity.

Detective Superintendent Mark Pollock, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing in the East Midlands, said: “We are doing all we can to keep you safe, working around the clock to protect everyone from those wishing to do us harm.

“Communities defeat terrorism and your cooperation is a powerful defence.

“Any piece of information could be important and it is better to be safe and report it. No call or click will be ignored. What you tell the police is treated in the strictest confidence and is thoroughly researched by experienced officers before, and if, any police action is taken.”

The UK terrorism threat level is at Severe - an attack is highly likely. Pay attention to what is going on around you. Be alert, but not alarmed. Remember, trust your instincts and ACT.
